Lion Dental Centre – Which orthodontic braces are right for me?
A 2012 study confirms people with straight teeth are perceived as more successful, smarter and have more dates. What’s more, this perception translated into real world benefits for those with straighter teeth, in that they were offered jobs more frequently, usually with more money and enjoyed more dating success, given the fact that they were considered more attractive.
Anybody can have straighter teeth. It’s a very achievable goal and if you’re in Stourbridge looking for orthodontic treatment, the Lion Dental Centre can help. In this post we’re going to look at the different, effective means of straightening teeth we offer here, including Invisalign and fixed braces.
Fixed braces
Fixed braces are a traditional and very reliable method of straightening teeth. Brackets are bonded onto your teeth and wires are threaded through them. Throughout the treatment period, the braces will be periodically adjusted by your orthodontist in order to keep the pressure on your teeth and keep them moving in the right direction.
Francesca Dash is in charge of fitting braces at our Stourbridge practice. She has an extremely high success rate and many years of experience. Your fixed brace options include metal braces, ceramic braces and Six Month Smiles braces. The ceramic braces are a more discreet version of the traditional metal “train track” braces and they can correct most alignment problems. Six Month Smiles braces, as the name suggests, have an average treatment time of just six months and concentrate on straightening just the front 6 teeth in your mouth.
Invisalign clear braces
If you’re looking for a more cutting edge, removable option, Invisalign is a pioneering brand that has been fitted on more than 3 million people worldwide. The treatment system consists of a series of clear plastic trays, which fit over the teeth like a retainer, in order to bring them into a more desirable position.
The trays will be custom-made, both to fit your mouth and treat your alignment issues. Prior to your first fitting, your dentist will map the journey of your teeth using computer imaging known as iTero in order to design a series of treatment trays that will be unique to you.
After the first tray has been fitted and served its purpose within a few weeks, you will visit your dentist again to have a second tray fitted. This second tray will continue to move your teeth in the right direction, as will the third and fourth trays until you have a perfectly straight smile.
Invisalign trays can be removed for eating and brushing so unlike fixed braces, brushing your teeth will be easy and you won’t have to worry about avoiding certain foods. Francesca Dash is the recipient of an Invisalign award and has been named in the top 50 providers in Europe, so you can be sure you’re in safe hands.
