Are you currently undergoing Invisalign treatment? Or are you considering having braces in the future? Are you interested in a consultation here in Stourbridge, to find out more about what’s involved? Whatever your reason for reading today’s blog, we hope we’ll help answer all these questions – and more – by focusing today on our incredible clear aligners treatment. Wherever you are in your Invisalign journey, take a seat and read on.

What’s Invisalign?

We’ll start with the basics: what this treatment is, how it works, and how it could benefit you and your smile. Invisalign is a clear, acrylic aligner and a revolution in orthodontics. That’s because it’s removable, discreet and comfortable on your teeth. So, instead of metal wires and brackets, all you have to do is clip a little plastic tray over your teeth and go!

Why have Invisalign?

Invisalign is for teeth straightening cases, but it can also help with problems like jaw pain, bite misalignment and even general oral health (since tooth gaps or crowding makes cleaning problematic). You can read more about how Invisalign can help your bite by reading our previous blogs. Not sure if it’s for you? Just ask our team.

What’s treatment like?

Flexible, comfortable, and extremely predictable. Patients have their smiles scanned, tooth movements plotted, and a 3D image generated of predicted results with iTero scanning. It’s like developing a personal treatment programme for your smile. Wearing Invisalign is a breeze, too – all you need to do is take it out for eating, keep to 20-22 hours of wear per day and keep the brace (and your mouth) clean.

What can I eat and drink with my clear aligners?

Whatever you like! Remember to remove your Invisalign aligners before mealtimes. This is the perfect opportunity to give it a clean, too – rinse in warm water and brush your teeth, if you like. Don’t use any chemicals on your Invisalign brace though!

How do I clean my clear aligners?

As well as the steps we’ve mentioned, you’ll need to soak it in Invisalign brand crystals or denture cleaner every few days. This helps ensure any bacteria and germs are killed off and any minute particles of food – which might have got stuck in your teeth after eating, and become trapped in your brace – are swept away.

What else do I need to know?

An aligner storage case is an essential piece of kit to have if you undergo treatment. It means your brace is safely protected from loss or damage!
